Description
Offered here is a matched cased set of two Colt 2nd Generation Buntline Special Single Action Army revolvers chambered in .45 Colt. Known for their extra-long barrels and Old West appeal, Buntline Specials are prized among Colt enthusiasts and serious collectors.
Each revolver features a 12-inch barrel with blade front sight, six-shot fluted cylinder, blue finish with case-colored frame, and two-piece walnut grips. The set includes one revolver manufactured in 1967 (serial #44176SA) and one in 1973 (serial #67066SA). Both are housed in a walnut presentation box with blue velour interior, fitted cartridge block, and 16 original .45 Colt rounds, adding to their historical and display value.
Condition remains excellent overall. The 1967 example retains over 95% of its original blue with vivid case colors, showing only minor handling marks. The 1973 revolver retains 98% blue and strong case coloring, with light muzzle wear and faint cylinder drag. Both display bright bores and crisp actions. From the collection of Alan Bradley Shepherd, this set represents a rare opportunity to acquire a historically significant and visually striking pair of Colt Buntline Specials.
